The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria has continued its stakeholder engagement drive with a courtesy visit to MedPlus Limited, focusing on partnerships that will enhance community pharmacy practice and improve access to quality pharmaceutical care across Nigeria.
As part of its ongoing efforts to deepen collaboration with key players in Nigeria’s pharmaceutical sector, the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) paid a courtesy visit to the corporate headquarters of MedPlus Limited in Lagos on 21 January 2026.
The visit took place at MedPlus Limited’s head office on Saka Tinubu Street, Victoria Island, and brought together the leadership of the national professional body and the management of one of Nigeria’s foremost community pharmacy chains. Discussions were held in a cordial and forward-looking atmosphere, reflecting a shared commitment to the growth and development of pharmacy practice in the country.
Strengthening Community Pharmacy Practice
Leading the PSN delegation, the President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Pharm. Ayuba Tanko Ibrahim, expressed appreciation for MedPlus Limited’s contributions to community pharmacy practice in Nigeria. He described the Managing Director of MedPlus as a steadfast supporter and trusted ally of the pharmacy profession, acknowledging the organisation’s role in promoting professionalism, innovation, and patient-centred pharmaceutical care.
Key deliberations during the meeting centred on areas of strategic collaboration aimed at strengthening community pharmacy practice, improving service delivery standards, and expanding access to quality pharmaceutical care for Nigerians. Both parties highlighted the importance of collaboration between professional bodies and corporate pharmacy organisations in addressing evolving healthcare needs and improving public health outcomes.
The engagement reflects a shared vision to position community pharmacists as accessible, trusted healthcare providers within Nigeria’s healthcare delivery system.
MedPlus Reaffirms Support for the Pharmacy Profession
Responding on behalf of MedPlus Limited, the Managing Director welcomed the PSN delegation and expressed delight at the visit. She conveyed her goodwill to the PSN President and the current administration, offering prayers for the success of the leadership and reaffirming MedPlus Limited’s commitment to initiatives that promote the growth and development of the pharmacy profession.
Discussions also touched on the forthcoming Centenary Celebration of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, marking 100 years of organised pharmacy practice in the country. MedPlus Limited expressed enthusiasm and support for the historic milestone and its planned activities.
The visit concluded on a positive note, with both PSN and MedPlus Limited reaffirming their commitment to sustained collaboration in advancing pharmacy practice and improving health outcomes for Nigerians.
