The West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists (WAPCP) has honoured Pharm. Ahmed I. Yakasai, mni, FPSN, with an Appreciation Award during the 98th Annual National Conference of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), held at Bayero University, Kano.
The West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists (WAPCP) has conferred an Appreciation Award on Pharm. Ahmed I. Yakasai, mni, FPSN, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the pharmacy profession and his unwavering support for the advancement of postgraduate pharmacy education in West Africa.
The award ceremony took place on Wednesday, November 6, 2025, during the 98th Annual National Conference of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), held at the Convocation Arena of Bayero University, Kano.

Pharm. Yakasai, a former President of the PSN and Fellow of both the PSN and the WAPCP, expressed deep gratitude for the honour. He described the recognition as both heartwarming and inspiring, noting that it reaffirmed his commitment to the growth and development of the pharmacy profession.
“I am deeply touched and sincerely grateful to the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists for this kind recognition. It is truly heartwarming to know that my modest contributions to the growth of our noble profession and to the advancement of the College are valued,” he said.
He further commended the College for its pivotal role in promoting professional excellence and advancing pharmacy practice across the region.
“The College remains a beacon of professional excellence and a driving force in shaping the future of pharmacy practice in our region. I remain committed to supporting its mission of promoting postgraduate education, research, and professional development for the betterment of healthcare in West Africa,” he added.
The gesture by the WAPCP highlights the College’s tradition of acknowledging distinguished professionals who have made lasting impacts in pharmacy education, leadership, and service.
Pharm. Yakasai concluded by expressing heartfelt appreciation to the College for the thoughtful gesture, describing the award as “an honour I cherish deeply.”
