Fidson Healthcare Plc recorded a remarkable financial performance in 2025, posting revenue of ₦119.06 billion and strong growth in profitability, driven by increased sales across its ethical, over-the-counter (OTC), and consumer healthcare product segments.

Fidson Healthcare Plc has reported a major financial milestone, with its revenue rising to ₦119.06 billion for the 2025 financial year, representing a significant increase from ₦84.19 billion recorded in 2024. The impressive performance reflects the company's continued expansion in Nigeria’s pharmaceutical manufacturing sector and growing demand for its products.

According to the company's unaudited financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2025, profit after tax climbed to ₦9.31 billion, representing a significant improvement from ₦5.78 billion recorded in 2024. Profit before tax also increased to ₦13.89 billion, highlighting stronger operational efficiency despite inflationary pressures, higher finance costs, and foreign exchange challenges.

Ethical Drugs Lead Revenue Growth

The ethical pharmaceutical segment remained the company's largest revenue driver, generating ₦77.84 billion, up from ₦55.00 billion in the previous year. Over-the-counter (OTC) products contributed ₦36.37 billion, while consumer healthcare products generated ₦4.33 billion. Fidson also recorded ₦523 million in export revenue, marking continued progress in expanding its footprint beyond Nigeria.

"Fidson's 2025 financial performance demonstrates the growing strength of Nigeria's indigenous pharmaceutical manufacturing industry and the increasing acceptance of locally produced medicines."

Profitability Improves Despite Economic Headwinds

Gross profit rose significantly to ₦49.15 billion, compared to ₦35.10 billion achieved in 2024. However, the company continued to contend with elevated operating costs arising from inflation, energy expenses, and exchange rate volatility. Net foreign exchange losses exceeded ₦5.5 billion during the financial year.

Despite these economic challenges, Fidson sustained its long-term growth strategy by investing more than ₦7.8 billion in property, plant, and equipment to strengthen manufacturing capacity and modernize infrastructure. Total assets increased to ₦80.45 billion, up from ₦73.49 billion in 2024, while shareholders' equity grew to ₦30.78 billion.

Shareholder Value Continues to Grow

The company's earnings per share improved to 388 kobo, compared with 252 kobo in the previous year, reflecting stronger returns for investors. Fidson also distributed dividends totaling approximately ₦2.29 billion, reaffirming its commitment to rewarding shareholders while sustaining business growth.

Founded in 1995, Fidson Healthcare Plc has established itself as one of Nigeria’s leading pharmaceutical manufacturers, producing ethical medicines, OTC products, and consumer healthcare solutions.
