The Pharmaceutical Association of Nigerian Students (PANS), Bayero University Kano Chapter has concluded its 2025/2026 elections, ushering in a new leadership team following a student-wide democratic process conducted by the PANS Electoral Committee.
The Pharmaceutical Association of Nigerian Students (PANS), Bayero University Kano (BUK) Chapter has successfully concluded its 2025/2026 General Elections, ushering in a new set of student leaders who will guide the affairs of the association in the coming session.
The election, conducted under the supervision of the PANS Electoral Committee (PANSECO BUK), brought together pharmacy students across all levels to participate in the democratic process through an online voting system. The exercise followed several stages including voters’ registration, screening of candidates, campaigns, and the eventual polling day.
At the end of the exercise, Umar Nasir Huzaifa emerged as the President-elect of the association.
Statement by the President-Elect
Speaking after the declaration of results, the President-elect Umar Nasir Huzaifa expressed gratitude to members of the association for the confidence reposed in him:
“I am deeply honored by the trust placed in me by the members of the Pharmaceutical Association of Nigerian Students, Bayero University Kano Chapter.
This election represents not only a personal milestone but also a shared commitment to advancing the academic, professional, and leadership development of pharmacy students.
As we begin this new chapter, my focus will be on strengthening academic support systems, expanding professional development opportunities, and promoting impactful initiatives that contribute to public health and the pharmacy profession.
I look forward to working closely with my executive team, alumni, and professional stakeholders to build on the strong foundations of the association and create meaningful value for our members.”
Remarks from the Electoral Committee
The Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Isa Aminu Hashim, commended committee members and students for their contribution and cooperation throughout the electoral process.
“The successful conduct of this election reflects the commitment of our members to democratic values and responsible leadership. I commend all aspirants for their courage to serve and all voters for participating in the process. As we move forward, I encourage everyone to unite behind the newly elected leadership so that together we can continue to strengthen our association and advance the interests of pharmacy students.”
