On Tuesday 15th April, 2025. I had the honor of visiting Pharm. Ghali Sule, the Director-General of the Drug  and Medical Consumables Supply Agency (DMCSA), Kano State. During this visit, I submitted an official invitation letter for the upcoming PANS National Symposium, marking the Golden Jubilee of our association, along with a request letter for funding to support the event.

Our discussion centered on various aspects of PANS National and the significant role our association continues to play in the development of the pharmacy profession. Pharm. Ghali Sule expressed his appreciation for the visit and offered valuable guidance on advancing our collective goals. His insights were inspiring, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and the continuous need for proactive engagement within the profession.

During this visit, I had the incredible opportunity to meet Pharm. Aminu Usman, a well-known and respected elder in the pharmacy profession. Pharm. Usman, who has dedicated his life to the advancement of the profession, is one of the pioneering pharmacists in Nigeria. His contributions to the profession have been monumental, and it was an honor to speak with him.

Pharm. Aminu Usman took the time to brief me on the history of the pharmacy profession, tracing its roots and the challenges he faced during his career. He shared personal stories of his struggles and triumphs, reflecting on his dedication and tireless efforts to improve the field. His reflections, particularly his experiences before retiring, were both humbling and enlightening.

The conversation with Pharm. Aminu Usman was a profound reminder of the sacrifices made by the early pioneers of the pharmacy profession and how their commitment laid the foundation for the thriving profession we are part of today.

This visit was not only productive but deeply inspiring. The discussions with both Pharm. Ghali Sule and Pharm. Aminu Usman reinforced the significance of preserving the rich history of our profession while working towards a brighter future for all pharmacy professionals.
