Kano, Nigeria – April 14, 2025 - The Pharmaceutical Association of Nigerian Students, Bayero University Kano Chapter (PANS-BUK), held the inauguration ceremony of its newly elected Executive Council on Monday, April 14, 2025. The event marked the official transition of leadership following the PANS elections held on March 22, 2025.

The ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including the Sub-Dean Academics, Dr. Suleiman Ibrahim Danladi, and the Caretaker Committee Chairman, Nazifi Auwal Carbonyl, alongside enthusiastic PANSITES.

The newly elected President, Adamu Sulaiman Adamu (ASA), outlined his vision for the administration, centered on "growth, unity, and service." In his inaugural speech, President Adamu expressed his gratitude to Almighty Allah, the Caretaker Committee (CTC), the PANS Electoral Committee, and the Sub-Dean Academics for facilitating the transition.

President Adamu's plans for the upcoming year include a focus on strengthening academics through mentorship, orientation programs, tutorials, excursions, and improved student-lecturer relations. His administration also aims to enhance student welfare by establishing a mini printing point, improving the PANS Shop, working with the faculty to upgrade lecture rooms and laboratories, enhancing sporting activities, and organizing social events. Furthermore, the new Exco plans to engage in impactful extracurricular activities such as career guidance in secondary schools, medical outreaches, and collaborations with influential figures.

The PANS Electoral Committee (PANSECO), led by Chairman Abdulkadir Abdullahi Shehu, oversaw the elections. According to Shehu, the election process involved accreditation before voting, utilizing both digital and manual methods for vote sorting, and ensuring transparency through adherence to strict electoral guidelines.   

Sub-Dean Academics, Dr. Sulaiman Danladi, presents the Certificate of Return to the newly elected President, Adamu Sulaiman Adamu, marking a new chapter in leadership.


The official election results, announced by PANSECO, indicated a total of 422 eligible voters, with 174 accredited voters and 142 total votes cast. Adamu Sulaiman Adamu won the presidential race with 116 votes.   

The newly elected officials are:

  • Assistant Secretary General: Shitu Ra'aya Burji   

  • Public Relations Officer I: Ismail Hamza

  • Treasurer: Zaid Mustapha Lawan   

  • Welfare Director: Umar Sabiu Suleiman   

  • Financial Secretary: Umar Nasir Huzaifah   

  • Social Director: Aliyu Musa Idris   

  • Editor-in-Chief: Abdussamad Abdulfatah  

  • Academic Director: Makiyyu Ibrahim Sanka   

  • Sport Director: Ahmad Salisu Ahmad   

  • Sales Director: Bello Adam Abdullahi   

  • Parliamentary Seats (500 Level): Ibrahim Sani

The inauguration ceremony was attended by PANSITES in Kano, who came to show their support for the new leadership. The event concluded with President Adamu's pledge to serve with dedication and a prayer for the faculty's progress and guidance.
